1766, June 5: David Nichols & Dolle (Chase) to James Carr of Amesbury (118/278). A certain messuage and tenement situated by the River near Holt’s Rock about 1/4 of an acre consisting of a house and barn bounded westerly and southerly on land that was formerly Simeon Brown’s on the other side by the highway or common landing or xxxx otherwise bounded with above said buildings and fence and xxxxx.

 

1855, June 28: Addison P. Chaples and Leonora (Lenova) F. (Wilcombe) Chaples and Ann Maria Wilcomb to John W. Ladd (516/129). 40 rods more or less Bounded southeasterly by highway leading from Duck Hole to Rocks Village, southwesterly by a highway,  northwesterly and northeasterly by land of widow of Moses Brown Partially in Haverhill and partially in Merrimack. Leonora and Ann Maria were the daughters of William Wilcomb who was the draw bridge tender in 1830.

Widow of Moses Brown was Abigail.  Abigail Burroughs (1776 -1859) married 1) Frederick Parker (1771 – 1830) in 1796, 2) Moses Brown (x- bfr 1855) in 1832

1866, April 23: John W. Ladd to J. B. Nichols bounded Southeasterly by highway leading from Rocks Village to Amesbury, southwesterly by highway, northwesterly by land now or formerly of James Davis; northeasterly by land now or formerly of James Davis.

1873, Nov 29: James Davis and Lydia Davis to Daniel J. Colby (901/203). A certain piece of land situated on road leading from rocks bridge to Amesbury by Merrimack River bounded as follows: beginning on westerly side of said road by land of J. B. Nichols and running northerly 7R by said road to s&s then northwesterly 19R to s&s and southwest by my own land to Back Road so called thence as the wall now stands easterly by Back Road to land of J. B. Nichols thence by said Nichols’ land northerly 5R 20L and easterly 7R 12L to place of beginning. Also my right, title, and interest to a strip of land lying on the easterly side of Amesbury Road by the shore of the Merrimack river adjacent to two first described bounds above.
