For Rocks Village proper, only Nathaniel and Hannah Cheney owned land on Wharf Lane for a few years from July of 1801. Nathaniel died in December of 1801 and deeds from connecting properties suggests that Hannah owned the land until at least 1804. We have not been able to ascertain who Hannah was as yet.
Earlier on, Cheney family members owned land up on 110 near Sanders and Whittier land abutting or part of East Meadow and Little River. This was in the mid 1700s era.
Several Cheneys married into to prominent Rocks Village Families such as Colby, Bartlett, Brown, Bailey, Silloway, Orne and Noyes.
