Kimball Family

Gideon George(1712 – 1787) and Elizabeth Jewett owned 134 acres in Haverhill when Gideon died in 1787. His son Amos purchased 1/2 of the land at that time.  The first deed listed for Gideon is dated 1749 and he buys land from Abraham Kimball (93/58)

Hazen Kimball (Benjamin, Richard, Benjamin, Richard, Benjamin, Richard) is listed as a comb maker in Haverhill starting in 1829.  This is around the time that comb making was a very good business in the East Parish of Haverhill.  Starting in 1829, Hazen starts to buy land from the Georges bounded by River Road (now called East Broadway) and the Merrimac River.

Hazen continues to buy land adjacent to these plots from the Davises, Maynards, Nichols, Kelleys, Littles, Flanders, and more land from the Georges up until the mid 1800’s finally purchasing the “Elliot Farm” from James Elliot’s heirs in 1876.  He passes away in 1877 and the land is given to his heirs to mostly sell to Frederick their brother and Abigail K. (Kimball) Robinson, Frederick’s sister, who marries Warren Robinson. Thus making the large tracts of land now known as Kimball’s Farm in East Haverhill near Rocks Village.
